Robert J. Rittichier
Honored Coach - Rogers High School
For 20 years, Robert J. Rittichier was a strong contributor in both the academic field and the athletic arena.
In 1956, Bob organized and coached the first wrestling team at Rogers High School. Within five years, the wrestling program grew and became recognized as a future state power. Bob’s dual meet record was 28-5-0, which included two undefeated seasons. He had two team championships and eleven individual championships. Bob won two District Championships and one Sectional Championship. In 1957, Rogers placed ninth in the state. During his five years of coaching Rogers wrestling team, they had a two-time State Heavy Weight Champion and three second place winners.
Bob was appointed Head Football Coach in 1961 and continued through 1964. During this time his record was 33-7-0. Five of the seven losses were by seven points or less. Four of his players were named to All State Teams. In 1964, Rogers won the GLL Championship.
