Mark Osgood
Mark Osgood is a 1972 graduate of Rogers High School where he was an Ohio High School State Champion in wrestling his senior year. Mark also placed fifth in the Junior National Freestyle Tournament and wrestled for the USA Junior Freestyle Team in Rome, Italy.
Accepting a scholarship to continue his career at Kent State University, Mark captained the team his last two years winning a Mid-American Conference Championship and two trips to the NCAA Division I Tournament.
Following his collegiate career with a degree in Education, Mark took up teaching and coaching at the high school and university level. During the past 25 years of coaching, Mark has been able to garner numerous state and national qualifiers. His coaching record for nine years at the college level ranks 123-29-1. The accomplishments of his athletes awarded Mark Conference Coach of the Year six times, a 6th, 5th, 8th, and 4th place finish in the NCAA Division II National Tournament and (NCAA Division II) National Coach of the Year in 1985.
As a year round coach in the sport of wrestling, Mark had the honor to coach teams at the National Cadet Freestyle Tournament, High School German American Meet and Ohio/Michigan All-Star Meet.
Mark holds two masters degrees and has authored two books on the subject of Wrestling. Mark was also inducted into the Ashland University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000.
