Joe Tiller

 

    While at Rogers High School, Joe was All State in Football in 1960.  Joe went on to earn a B.S. Degree in Secondary Education from Montana State in 1965.

    Joe was an Honorable Mention All-American Offensive Tackle and Team Captain for the Bobcats and played in the 1963 East-West Shrine Game.  Joe was then drafted by the Boston Patriots of the American Football League in 1964.  Joe did not sign on with the Boston Patriots; however, he played for Calgary of the CFL during the 1964 season.

    Joe took the reins of the Purdue Football Program that had just one winning season and no bowl game appearances since 1984.  He engineered seven consecutive bowl berths with an average of nearly eight wins per season and a Big Ten Championship in 2000. 

    During the 2002 season, Joe became the second winningest coach in school history, both for all games and Big Ten games.

    Joe is presently under contract that ensures his presence on the Purdue sideline at least through the 2010 campaign.

    In addition, Joe was one of eleven coaches in the running for the Bobby Dodd National Coach of the Year Award.  He is a member of the American Football Coaches Association and is in constant demand as a public speaker.

    Joe and his wife Annette have three children, Renee, Julie and Mike.  As a special addition to their family, they also have two golden retrievers, Millie and Patty.
