William (Bill) Gladieux

William (Bill) Gladieux was hired as the Rogers High School Freshman Basketball Coach in 1970.  It was his responsibility to build a basketball program from the ground up.  After coaching the freshman squad for one year he coached the JV squad for two years where he led the JV team to a Blue Division title.

In the fall of 1973, Bill began his varsity coaching career and was afforded the honor of coaching the athletes he developed since their freshman year.  For the next eleven years, Rogers was one of the most dominant basketball schools in Northwest Ohio.

During those eleven years, Bill led the Rams to three Blue Division titles and was named the City League Coach of the Year of the 1977/1978 season and the District Seven Coach of the Year for the 1983/1984 season.  Consequently, the Rogers Basketball program had a team play for the City Championship at one of the three levels (Varsity, JV, and freshman) almost every year he was the head basketball coach.

After the 1983/1984 season, Bill retired as the most successful basketball coach in Rogers High School history with a record of 138-82.  His record still stands as the best at Rogers High School to date.  After retiring, Bill went on to develop a strong AAU Basketball program in Northwest Ohio.  Bill’s teams received state and national recognition.

Bill and his wife Cindy raised three sons, Ryan, Matthew and Adam.  Bill’s dedication to Rogers High School in his thirty-four years of teaching continues to this date and he is actively involved in the athletic program.
